Amy Toopes, MSN, APN, FNP-BC is a masters-prepared, board certified Family Nurse Practitioner. She earned her bachelor's degree in nursing from Arkansas State University in 2005 and her master’s degree in nursing from Northern Illinois University in 2013. Throughout her career, Amy has demonstrated a strong commitment to patient care, clinical excellence, and nursing education. Her dedication to excellence has been recognized, highlighting her impact on patient outcomes and her role in advancing nursing practices. Amy’s extensive experience in healthcare includes roles such as ED staff and charge nurse, cardiology nurse practitioner, and ED educator. She also possesses significant expertise in project management and process improvement, serving as a coordinator for sepsis, STEMI, and resuscitation initiatives. Currently, she is a Program Development Specialist within the Novice Nurse Education Programs division for the Emergency Nurses Association, where she impacts the Emergency Nurse Residency Program and all new nurse education. Amy continues to work as an emergency nurse in a critical care hospital in the Chicago metropolitan area.
