Deena Brecher MSN, RN, ACNS-BC, CEN, CPEN, FAEN is a dynamic emergency nursing leader with a passion for patient safety and pediatric care. She has been an emergency nurse for over 25 years, practicing in various roles from the bedside to leadership including serving as the Clinical Director for Emergency Services at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital. She is currently the Chief Nursing Officer at Mednition, an AI company that provides real time clinical decision support for emergency nurses. She has held numerous leadership positions in the Emergency Nurses Association, most notably serving as ENA National President in 2014 and the Chair of the Academy of Emergency Nursing in 2025. Deena earned a certificate in prehospital emergency care from the Center for Emergency Medicine in 1994. In 1997, she earned her BSN from the University of Pittsburgh and followed up with her MSN as an emergency care clinical nurse specialist at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston in 2004. Her Master’s thesis entitled “The Reliability and Validity of ESI v3 in the Pediatric Population” was awarded the ENA/Micromedix Best Research Abstract Award in 2004.
