Emmanual Acheampong

Mr. Emmanuel Kwasi Acheampong is a distinguished emergency nurse, educator, and global health advocate whose career reflects an unwavering commitment to advancing emergency care across Africa and beyond. He is a certified Instructor for the Trauma Nursing Core Course(TNCC) and plays a leading role in trauma education and emergency nursing capacity building. Mr. Acheampong currently serves as the Nurse Lead for the African Federation for Emergency Medicine (AFEM), General Secretary for the Emergency Medicine Society of Ghana (EMSOG), and National Coordinator for Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) Ghana. These leadership roles reflect his significant influence on emergency care systems at both national and continental levels. He is also an active member of several professional organizations, including the Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association (GRNMA), and ATLS Europe. A founding member of EMSOG, he continues to drive initiatives that enhance emergency preparedness, trauma care, and clinical governance in resource-limited settings. Mr. Acheampong’s contributions extend beyond the bedside. He has actively participated in numerous specialized trainings, international conferences, and professional workshops, consistently demonstrating his commitment to improving patient outcomes through education and collaboration. His academic engagements include serving as the Chief Examiner in Emergency Nursing for the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Ghana and as a reviewer for several high-impact journals, including Resuscitation, PLOS One, and the African Journal of Emergency Medicine. A passionate researcher, his work has been published in respected peer-reviewed journals and presented at global scientific forums. His research focuses on improving clinical outcomes, emergency nursing practice, and health system resilience in low- and middle-income countries. In March 2023, Mr. Acheampong was awarded a Presidential Honour for Distinguished Service, recognizing his exceptional leadership, hard work, and sacrifices during the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic. His international contributions include serving as a WHO Consultant Critical Care Nurse to the Kingdom of eSwatini, where he supported critical care delivery, mentoring, and systems strengthening.
