Hershaw Davis Jr., DNP, MBA, RN is a dedicated member of University of Maryland School of Nursing (UMSON) as an entry-level clinical faculty within the Department of Organizational Systems and Adult Health. Simultaneously, he takes on the role of an adjunct professor of practice in the Department of Nursing at Morgan State University, leveraging his wealth of experience to mentor and guide budding nursing professionals and faculty. His academic journey commenced with positions as an adjunct clinical instructor at UMSON and Morgan State University, where he honed his teaching skills and shared his extensive knowledge.
Fueled by an unyielding commitment to champion diversity, equity, inclusion, and to eliminate health disparities, Hershaw actively contributes as a member of the Diversity Advisory Council at the University of Maryland, Baltimore. He holds leadership roles within professional organizations, assuming the position of co-chair for the Inaugural Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee at the Emergency Nurses Association. Additionally, he is a valued member of the American Psychiatric Nurses Association Council for Mental Health Advocacy Steering Committee.
His scholarly endeavors predominantly revolve around research exploring mental health issues, specifically focusing on marginalized and minoritized male populations. He remains resolute in his dedication to effecting tangible change and progression within nursing education, clinical practice, and remains a steadfast advocate for underrepresented and marginalized communities in the healthcare landscape.
