Justin Fontenot DNP, RN, NEA-BC, FAADN

Dr. Justin Fontenot is an associate professor at the School of Medicine at Tulane University, Program of Nursing, and an adjunct lecturer of biostatistics at Johns Hopkins School of Nursing. He also serves as the Editor-in-Chief of the peer-reviewed academic journal Teaching and Learning in Nursing. He is a board-certified Nurse Executive Advanced and a fellow in the Academy for Associate Degree Nursing. As a current DNP to Ph.D. bridge student in Nursing Science at Texas Woman’s University, his research program focuses on theory generation for nursing confidence. He is also interested in educational equity and passionate about psychometrics and bibliometric analysis. Dr. Fontenot is passionate about philosophy and discussing scientific paradigms and existential thought. He is also a burgeoning expert in artificial intelligence. He is the author of numerous peer-reviewed publications and an expert speaker to national and international audiences. He recently published a book chapter contributing to a guide for inclusive healthcare design, reflecting his expertise in caring in the home. He is currently working on research on clinical reasoning and the educational preparation of nurses and validating an instrument to measure allyship in nursing.
