Kory is an accomplished Emergency Department (ED) nurse with over 19 years of experience and a background as an EMT-B/Firefighter. He has dedicated his entire adult life to serving his community in various capacities, including as a staff nurse, educator, and charge nurse in a Level 2 trauma center and, for the past six years, as the manager of a high-acuity Freestanding Emergency Department.  In addition to his clinical roles, Kory currently serves as the Chair of the Quality, Safety, and Injury Prevention Committee for the Colorado Emergency Nurses Association (ENA). He also plays a pivotal role in leading the Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) program across six EDs in Colorado, focusing on harm reduction and improving care for patients impacted by social determinants of health.  Kory has a deep passion for pediatrics and was instrumental in developing the first pediatric readiness initiatives in 2011, serving as the ED educator. As a Fellow of the Academy of Emergency Nurses, Kory is committed to advancing the field of emergency nursing through ongoing leadership and innovation, focusing on making lasting contributions to patient care, education, and the professional community.
