Matthew S Howard DNP, RN, CEN, TCRN, CPEN, CPN, FAEN

Dr. Howard is the Director of Scholarship and Leadership Resources at Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing (Sigma). While also serving as adjunct faculty at Northern Kentucky University and the University of Southern Indiana, Dr. Howard continues to work as a staff nurse in his clinical specialty of emergency nursing in two hospitals in southern Indiana. His nursing career has taken him from stretcher-side nursing to academia and back. Dr. Howard serves on several local, national, and international councils and nursing associations, including the Emergency Nurses Association, the International Network for Doctoral Education in Nursing, the International Society of Professional Identity in Nursing, and Sigma. Dr. Howard’s doctoral work revolves around increasing communication as a tool to decrease incivility and bullying.
