MSgt Michael Pate is the lead emergency department clinical instructor supporting a Level I academic trauma center and Simulations Program Manager at C-STARS St. Louis with over 10 years of emergency/trauma nursing and EMS experience. C-STARS St. Louis is a clinical immersion platform hosting 450 healthcare providers annually. During this 2-week course, students refresh their critical care skills by participating in various high-fidelity simulations and clinical rotations at three Level I Trauma Centers in preparation for deployments to austere, low-resource environments. As the Program Manager for C-STARS' high-fidelity simulations lab, MSgt Pate provides over ten thousand hours of interprofessional trauma simulations for DoD physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, medics, and respiratory care practitioners.
