Michael Villegas MSN, RN, CPEN

Mike has been an emergency nurse for 8 years, functioning as a staff nurse, and currently serves as a Clinical Practice Specialist in a level 2 trauma center in the western suburbs of Chicago. He was a SHAPE graduate during its first implementation and now plays a vital role in coordinating, facilitating, and acting as the subject matter expert for the Core program. As a resource, helped his emergency department achieve the Lantern Award in 2023. He is currently a CPEN (Certified Pediatric Emergency Nurse) and is working on achieving his CEN (Certified Emergency Nurse) and NPD-BC (Nursing Professional Development Certification).
