Nicole Trainer DNP, CNS-BC, CCRN, CHSE

Nicole Trainer is a critical care clinical nurse specialist skilled in evidence-based practice, education, consultation, and simulation. She is a nursing leader with special interests in organ transplantation, competency development, and innovative educational platforms. In her professional development role, she has trained hundreds of emergency department and critical care novice nurses. A full-time professor in the George Washington University undergraduate nursing program, Dr. Trainer utilizes active learning with technology to create learning outcomes and exceptional nurses. Dr. Trainer’s background includes a Bachelor of Nursing from George Mason University, a Masters in Critical Care Clinical Nurse Specialist from Marymount University, and a Doctorate of Nursing Practice from American Sentinel University. Clinically, she has over 20 years of critical care experience in level one and community hospitals. Her clinical expertise includes obesity, organ procurement, trauma, and sepsis. Dr. Trainer returned to the bedside to serve as a bedside Covid response critical care nurse during the pandemic.
