Dr. Tresa Zielinski is a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP) in the department of Infectious Disease & the Emergency Department at a large children's hospital in Chicago Il and is representing PNPs on the Pediatric Pandemic Network and the only PNP on the National Pediatric Readiness Project through the through the department of Health and Human Services Emergency Medical Service for Children Innovation and Improvement Center.
She was the first allied health representative on the medical executive committee at Lurie Children’s Hospital. She is a past president of the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners (NAPNAP) and NAPNAP Partners. She has also served as the Communication Chair for NAPNAP national as well as Illinois chapter president.
Tresa served on the Emergency Nurse Association Advance Practice Council for 2 terms. She is appointed to the Conference Planning Committee for NAPNAP to serve for 3 years 2023-2026. She has presented on a national and international level over the past 3 decades and specializes in Kawasaki Disease in children which perfectly blends her experiences in the emergency department and infectious disease consults. She runs a multi-disciplinary clinic with cardiology to care for this fragile specific population after they are discharged and during their hospitalization.
